We are pleased to announce a new workshop for training Egyptian and Sudanese actors and actresses as part of the She in Cinema project, in partnership with the Sudanese Artists Association in Cairo.
The workshop is completely free of charge and is designed for beginners as well as those with previous experience in film or theater acting. It aims to introduce participants to the fundamentals of acting and provide practical training under the guidance of trainer Walaa Qaddah.
The workshop will run from Monday, 11 August to Thursday, 14 August, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

About the Trainer:
Walaa Qaddah is a professional actress and member of the Actors’ Syndicate with a deep passion for acting and theater. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from The American University in Cairo before moving to New York, where she studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse School and graduated from its intensive Meisner Technique program, making her a direct third-generation practitioner of the school through students of Sanford Meisner himself.
During her time in New York, she performed in several Off-Broadway productions and further developed her skills through advanced workshops with the SiTi Company under Anne Bogart, where she trained extensively in the Suzuki and Viewpoints techniques. She also completed three years of intensive contemporary dance training at the Cairo Contemporary Dance School.
Walaa has worked with some of the Arab world’s leading directors, including Marwan Hamed, Khairy Beshara, Karim El Shenawy, and Mohamed Shaker Khodeir. In her work, she combines technique with authenticity, body with imagination, and believes that art is a space for transformation, exploration, and deep connection with the self.
